Death Of A Computer

by lora on July 20, 2007

It is with much sadness and remorse that I must inform you of the death of my computer. I received my new power cord Monday and was so very excited that I would have a dependable computer once again… only to have my hopes completely and utterly dashed. Doctors (aka: geeky friends) have diagnosed the illness and we have found that the situation was more serious than we had first believed. After we received the cord we found the problem to be two tiered. The first tier was the overheating power cord, but the unknown second tier was the d/c jack on my computer. It has disconnected on the inside and now, no power can get to my computer, and my battery has died. It is so disconcerting to look into it’s empty black screen. It has death written all over it. The sounds of whirring and humming no long emanate from it’s lifeless shell…there is just emptiness, where once life existed. I will be sending it off next week to be healed… I will yearn for it while we are separated. But alas, the time will hopefully be short (7-10 days) and we will be reunited once again. Until then, if you don’t hear from me, it is due to the fact that I have donned my black mourning clothes until we are together once again.
