Stepping Heavenward

by lora on August 11, 2007

This week I began reading Stepping Heavenward to the girls. I read it several years ago, and wanted to share it with them. I became so interested in reading it that I have read ahead of where I am with the girls. God has shown me a great deal about myself through this book; it is both humbling and encouraging. If you haven’t read it, I can’t encourage you enough to do so. There are many deep lessons to be learned from it’s pages. It has also made me desire to read more of her books. The fact that the girls loved it has also encouraged me to read some other meatier books to them, that I would love to read, but just haven’t had the time to.

I have added a couple of blogs to my blogroll, and there is one that is my favorite. I have been greatly encouraged by Jewel and can’t recommend her blog enough. I sent it to a dear friend and she sent me the sweetest note, sharing how much Jewel had also blessed her. I hope you will seek her out and glean wisdom and encouragement from her as I have.

This day has flown by! Gene finished my first set of shelves for the kitchen and I was able to get my food back in and off of my table. I was amazed at how much space there was on them. They are 6 1/2′ tall, 3 1/4′ wide and 18″ deep. He will finish up the other set next week which will be the same size. I will put kitchen items on them and some of my food items. I can’t wait to get it all organized!

Lindsay felt good enough this afternoon to run with me to the library and to Wal-Mart and after we returned home, she took some pictures of our roses. Here are a few of them.

The other day Hannah took the following picture of our dog, Maggie, after she had jumped on top of our cat condo. Maggie hates flies and was trying to catch one that had come into the house.

I hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful time at church on Sunday!

Blessings!
